The Essex Regiment was a line infantry regiment of the British Army in existence from 1881 to 1958.

The badge features the castle of Gibraltar. Above the castle lays a Sphinx on a tablet embossed “EGYPT”, all except the Sphinx is enclosed by an oak wreath. On the lower portion a scroll embossed “THE ESSEX REGT”.

The badge is in great condition and comes in a terrific wooden frame.
