Description

The Mothers Cross or “The Cross of Honour of the German Mother” was a state decoration conferred by the government of the German Reich to honour a Reichsdeutsche German mother for exceptional merit to the German nation.

In recognition of the substantial importance a woman’s role and motherhood was in support of a strong Germany, the Cross of Honour of the German Mother was introduced by decree in Berlin on 16 December 1938 by Adolf Hitler.

The stampings and date of this cross are very clear (Dec 16 1938) as is the inscription on the front.

The way this variant glistens and shines truly sets it apart from the others!

This particular cross is the gold variant and although some clear signs of age are had it is still a fine piece of history and would undoubtedly look stunning in any collection display!
