Description
This here is an absolutely stunning example of a 3rd Reich officers sword.
Boasting a fine shine and an absolutely beautiful blade, the sword retains much of it’s original splendor and is free of any restoration. The hilt and part of the handle are of brass and the blade shows off a high quality nickle plating.
The swords ageing is visible with minor scuffs to be seen as well as some rust on the scabbard and lower blade, however the overall condition is frankly fantastic.
The hilt is engraved with oak leaves and acorns which cover the pommel, grip tabs & P guard. The cross guard features a raised Wehrmacht eagle and swastika. The reverse langet has been left plain for any potential added personalized engraving. The grip is carved wood covered in black celluloid.
This celluloid remains in good condition however a chip is visible at the top under the brass. It is wrapped with twisted brass wires, some of which have loosened slightly over the years but overall are fully intact and still look just superb.
From the stamping it becomes clear that this sword was manufactured in Solingen, a city in western Germany and was made by Puma.
Overall a truly desirable sword that would undoubtedly look fantastic on display.
