Description
This here is a fine example of a 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger.
This dagger has remained in relatively good condition over the years.
It boats bright aluminium hilt fittings that are well detailed, as is the the embellished pommel, crossguard and quillon surfaces are finely detailed. Light ivory coloured solid celluloid grip is not without cracks or chips but is still in overall good condition with 11 rows of twisted silver bullion wrap on the grip.
The scabbard exhibits moderate surface wear, with but a few dents and a deep toning. The scabbard throat is retained by two side mounted screws. Although the handle is slight loose, this dagger is uncleaned and retains many of its original qualities.
As is quite common no makers mark is present on the blade.
The blade itself does show signs of wear and minor grime but once again is in overall good condition.
Surely this blade would look splendid on display!
